Men’s Crew Takes on State Schools
Two weeks after Men’s Crew arrived home from spring training, they hit the road for a race hosted by the UMass Lowell Riverhawks.
Accompanied by fellow New England state schools UMass Amherst, UMaine, UNH, URI, and host UMass Lowell, the Huskies recorded a strong performance on the Merrimack river.
The First Varsity Eight finished second with a time of 5:59.8, five seconds off of first place UMass Amherst. The Second and Third Varsity Eight’s both clinched third place finishes in their respective heats.
The Varsity Four A and B boats finished second and third, falling to only UMass Lowell. The Second Varsity Four rowed to a second place finish in their race, one second behind host UMass Lowell.
The Novices did not disappoint, with the Novice Eight finishing third. The Novice 4 A & B boats wrapped up the regatta with 2nd and 4th place finishes.
The Huskies seek to carry this momentum to next weeks regatta, The Knecht Cup, in Cherry Hill NJ.
